Field Trip May 10

Your child will be bringing home at permission slip for the trip. Here's a copy too.
Bremer County 5th Grade Field Day
Dear Parents,
On Tuesday, May 10, our 5th grade classes will be attending an outdoor field day at Frederika.  The event is for all 5th graders in Bremer County.  It is sponsored by the Bremer County Conservation Office.  The students will have the opportunity to attend classes on Firearm Safety, Soil Conservation, Fishing, Archery, Canoeing, and many other subjects.  They will be given a half hour for lunch.  Please note the following information in regard to this day:
1.       Students must dress appropriately for outdoor education.  Then need to wear tennis shoes and socks.  NO SHORTS OR CAPRI PANTS WILL BE ALLOWED.  We suggest that all students bring boots, a jacket, and rain gear (if they have any) if there is a chance of rain.  You may also wish to send a hat for the to wear since there are wood ticks in the area.  You may want to check your child for ticks when they get home.
2.      At the bottom of this page there is a permission slip to sign for Benadryl.  Please sign and return it so that we may give your child Benadryl in the event that they should get into something that they are allergic to.  ie:  an insect bite, or something of that nature.  We do not anticipate any problems, but it never hurts to be prepared.
3.      Students will need to bring a sack lunch and water or Gatorade.  No pop, please.
4.      In order for your child to attend this field day, the permission for MUST be signed and returned.

YOU MAY/MAY NOT give my child Benadryl in the event that they need it.
Please circle your choice.

Content

nA variable is anything that you can change in an experiment that might affect the outcome.
nA mass hanging from a fixed point that is free to swing to and fro is called a pendulum.
nThe number of swings of a pendulum  might be affected by mass, length, or starting position.
nMass and release position do not affect the number of swings of a pendulum; length does.
nAs the length of the pendulum increases, the number of swings decreases.
